Sometimes it really does take a lot to even put one foot in front of the other. We are torn in so many directions with so many competing priorities that you just freeze and have no idea what to do next. Those are the times when you need to just keep putting one foot in front of the other. It does not have to be at lightening speed. It does not need to be at a pace that suits someone else, its about making sure you are able to get through the day.

I also suggest that when things are madly going from bad to worse, you take a moment to sit and clear your head. Now i know that you are thinking that this is impossible in the middle of a crisis or a day that is super busy, but really, those are the times when you get the most benefit from taking some time to regroup.

I have noticed with me that when i have a lot of ideas and want to do everything myself and I end up doing nothing but getting frustrated. My time would have been better spent planning on what i can do and then outsourcing the rest.

At least I am back on track now. There was a period of time when i felt like my hands were tied and I could not move in any direction. It passed and now everything is running smoothly again.

So enjoy your day. Make sure you take some time for yourself. You certainly deserve it.

How often have you heard women say that their lives are over because the children have left home? How often do women feel that they have nothing left to contribute because they believe their very reason for existence has gone off to college or run away with some sassy little thang?

Ladies, while i feel your pain, I’m here to tell you that if you simply flip the switch, you will see the wonderful opportunities that now await you – The most exciting being having your life back!!!

As a parent, I understand the time, energy and money we pour into our children. I also understand that my child comes through me and does not belong to me. He belongs to society and my job was to get him ready to go out into the world and become the man i know he can be.

This then frees up my time to undertake the other things in my life that have been left undone, unfinished or untapped because i chose not to follow them while being a parent. Now is the time for me to follow my star and be the best i can be – for me!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love being a parent. My son is the single greatest accomplishment i have ever undertaken. But I know that he is here to discover his own path and fly among the stars, and he cannot do that while under my wing.

If you are feeling as though you cannot go on because you have a child, or children that have left home, i invite you to contact me. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to embark on a new journey for you. To follow your passion, find your purpose and live life to the absolute extreme doing what makes you happy.

Let me be here to assist you in this new phase of your life. Trust me, it will be fun.

You don’t to get permission to be a leader. You just need to make the decision to lead. Leadership is not about a big song and dance and running around all ego driven. True leadership is about the shared vision of a dream and the strength of character of someone to take that dream to the next level.

Is being a leader scary? Absolutely. Is being out front likely to subject you to criticism? You bet. Is it going to be worth it in the long run? For sure. If you are passionate enough to have a dream and want to take your dream to the next level, then leadership is something you have to embrace.

Now you may be thinking, i work for myself and how can i lead? Well that’s easy. You can certainly lead yourself. Who better to lead than you? You can also lead clients and customers. Have faith in your abilities. No one is going to hand you a golden goblet and say we drink to your brilliance. (well that may be a little dramatic) Make the decision to lead, and others will follow you.

Most people need someone to take them to the next level. Why not you? Why not now?

Do you ever have days where everyone around you seems to have an opinion about what would be better for you? Well meaning people who believe that you need constant guidance and assistance to move through you days, but only end up confusing you?

Today was one of those days for me. I was having the most fabulous morning and after spending some time with my niece, I really was feeling inspired so i went in and pulled out some notes in my book to send to get written up.

Then a relative decided that it was important to discuss where i am at this point in time and talked about what i needed to focus on because i didn’t have a goal. I thought that was really interesting because i have had the same goal for about 10 years. However, if you don’t ask me what my goal is, you probably wouldnt know what it is.

I had to stop myself from second guessing myself and my choices. It really took me looking at the situation from their angle to see why they may think that. I didn’t take it personally, I know that not everyone ‘gets’ what i do. My mother will never understand why i spend so much time on that stupid computer. That’s just her though.

So i thought about it and i realised that we all get tested from time to time. How do you know if your on the right track if someone doesn’t question you or give you the opportunity to reaffirm your path. This doesn’t have to be a reaffirming by doing a big song and dance. That’s not everyone’s style. It maybe the quiet reassurance you need to give yourself that you are doing what you love and that you are where you are meant to be.

Do not take to heart every question you get, or every off handed comment, trust me, there will be many of those along your journey. If your going to give up on your dream every time someone makes a comment, its not a very strong dream at all.

So trust yourself. You know what is right for you. You don’t have to have the approval of the masses, you just need to have given yourself approval to believe, dream and achieve.

To your success.
K

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth’s rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him an leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone.

Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him . Maybe even some human might do him harm.

The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.

It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him.

He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.

We, too, are never alone.

Even when we don’t know it, God is watching over us, Sitting on the stump beside us.

When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to God.

I love that parable. It’s nice to know we are never alone and that we only have to believe for it to be so.

God can be called many names, Source, Universe, Spirit, Divine. What you call it does not matter. The point is that when you ask you shall receive. And for those that do not want to ask the source for help, well that is when you get sent friends!!!!!!

Being a strong woman, I have not always found it easy to ask for help or to trust people enough to allow them to help me. I know it was my issues that were standing in my way of receiving more than i was. I knew that what i expected to see in people or receive from them is what i would get in return.

So i decided to look for the good in people and trust that they would be there to help me if and when i needed it. And the nice thing was that they were.

I love how the army has night vision goggles that they use sometimes. It is really quite fascinating that you can see at night with a pair of funny looking glasses on your head. But sometimes a pair of night vision goggles are what we need to see through all the “stuff” that is going on in our lives.

I’m no expert on the goggles but from what i have seen in the movies, they really do make it easy to move around in total darkness with them on.

Sometimes it needs to get really dark before we are ready to start to see what is going on. I know for myself that was exactly what i had to do. I would let everything build up and become so much of a mess that it pretty much had to become a blackout for me to address it. So out came my night vision goggles and i started to be able to see through the darkness.

Now obviously this is just a metaphor for life in general. I mean you can run around with night vision goggles on if you like, but you do that at your own risk of looking silly.

I spent a lot of time in the dark. I didn’t want to admit what was going on. I didn’t want to see how bad my life was turning out and i pretended that everything was ok, when in actual fact it was falling apart by the second. But i was able to pull out my trusty night goggles and i saw things for how they really were. So when the daylight came, i could make some better or different choices.

So if you need a pair of night vision goggles, you can borrow mine

I have had a fabulous week. I really can’t complain at all. Yes it has been challenging at times and yes i would have liked to get a few more hours sleep than i got, but overall i learnt so much this week. And made it a truly great week. When you come out of the week with a lesson you didn’t have at the beginning of the week, you know its good.

It got me thinking about my life and the life of women in general. Now that can be something that could instantly give you a headache, but I love thinking of those sorts of things. I got to thinking about our lives and how we as mothers, usually end up putting our dreams on hold to fulfill or support our children, partners, parents, friends, sisters, brothers and everyone else instead of ourselves.

We really end up playing a supporting role in the movie of our life instead of in the lead role. Now that sucks. I have been told i am a drama queen and i have no problems with that title, but to think that I don’t get to take center stage in my own performance, it started to annoy me.

So this week, take stock of the role you play in the movie of your life. Are you in the lead? Do you have a cameo and only come in from scene to scene? Or is someone else telling you when you can lead and when you can’t?

You get one chance at this drama, don’t waste it standing behind someone else who is hijacking your production. Before you know it, it will be a final curtain call and then lights out. Have that moment come with no regrets at all.

Tony Robbins is so brilliant. The man is close to walking on water. He really does share some of the most helpful and sensible information I have come across in a long time. I listened to one of his new recordings on one of his sites and he says that you have to have a plan (which we know) but he kept saying that you need to take massive action. The one sentence that keeps sticking with me is something like, Never leave the scene of your goals without taking massive action. Do something right now to take a step towards your goals. Don’t put it off till later, do it now.

I am one of those people who love to learn and read and listen to information on the net, so i get really easily distracted. I can have 9 web pages open at once and be listening to several podcasts one after another or listening to little bits of each one. But after i heard that it really stuck with me. And it works. I have written on my blog everyday this week. For me that’s huge. But i have also taken action in joining a coaching program. Writing down what i love to do so i can become clear on it.

These may seem like little steps, but little steps give you momentum and they make way for more steps and before you know it, you are running and taking big strides.

So if I had to leave you with something today it would be to take massive action. Write that blog, send that email, call that contact, follow up that prospect, start that novel or whatever it is that you are passionate about and are currently putting off doing.

It really is such a worthwhile feeling to be able to know at the end of the day, that you have done something to move you one step closer to your dream.

I would love for you to share your dream with me. Pls feel free to email me or leave a comment.

Here’s to your passion and purpose.

When I was younger I had the worst fear of the dark. It was awful. I could not walk into a dark room, i had to sleep with light coming into my room, sleeping with the door closed was out of the question and any noise i heard from any dark corner would send me screaming to my mother for protection.

As I got older i started to realise that my fear was holding me back. With light coming into my room, I didn’t really have a good night sleep, and if my door was opened, as soon as someone else in the house started to walk around, it would wake me up.

Now not being as brave as I would have liked to be, I started to take control and make little changes. I would close my door ever so slightly and over time i closed it a little more and a little more until i was comfortable enough to close it all the way. I also realised that when you turn a light off the room is dark, but once your eyes adjust, it is not pitch black.

I also took note that mum left her kitchen light on and her door opened, nan left her kitchen light on and her door opened as did my other family members. Then I realised that it was learned behaviour. We had grown up with it for so long we just did it, but it added to our fears.

It was a huge accomplishment to get to the place where i sleep with my door closed, blinds down and a sleep mask on. I am no longer afraid. I’m so glad I questioned why I was afraid and did something about it.

How long did that fear keep me trapped? How long did it prevent me from experiencing things?

So my question to you would be, is there anything in your life that is being missed out on because of fear? And what would happen if you questioned it and took small steps to overcome that fear?

You may be surprised by what you achieve.

I suggest you start to because what you think about will come about. Whether you believe in this stuff or not is not the point. It happens. I know so many people who complain all day long, and they say how bad things are, and what is wrong with them, and who has done them wrong, and what is wrong with their jobs. And you know what, they just get more of what they put their energy on.

Tony Robbins says that what we think about we bring about. Where your focus goes, your energy flows. How true is that.

If you don’t believe, try it for a week or so. Just take notice of what you focus on. Do you think about how bad things are and what is wrong in your life. Or do you think about how many fabulous things you have and how blessed you are.

Whatever is going on in your life, your thinking is playing a huge role in it.
