EMPTY NEST – THE NEW OPPORTUNITY

Monday, March 1st, 2010

How often have you heard women say that their lives are over because the children have left home?  How often do women feel that they have nothing left to contribute because they believe their very reason for existence has gone off to college or run away with some sassy little thang?

Ladies, while i feel your pain, I’m here to tell you that if you simply flip the switch, you will see the wonderful opportunities that now await you – The most exciting being having your life back!!!

As a parent, I understand the time, energy and money we pour into our children.  I also understand that my child comes through me and does not belong to me.  He belongs to society and my job was to get him ready to go out into the world and become the man i know he can be.

This then frees up my time to undertake the other things in my life that have been left undone, unfinished or untapped because i chose not to follow them while being a parent.  Now is the time for me to follow my star and be the best i can be – for me!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love being a parent.  My son is the single greatest accomplishment i have ever undertaken.  But I know that he is here to discover his own path and fly among the stars, and he cannot do that while under my wing.

If you are feeling as though you cannot go on because you have a child, or children that have left home, i invite you to contact me.  This is a fabulous opportunity for you to embark on a new journey for you.  To follow your passion, find your purpose and live life to the absolute extreme doing what makes you happy.

Let me be here to assist you in this new phase of your life.  Trust me, it will be fun.

Why me?

Some days you wonder why it all happens to you.  Don’t you have enough to deal with without the added pressure of surprise stresses that pop up.  Did you really need that flat tyre today of all days?  Did you not tell your children for the 100th time not to spill their milk on the only clean school shirt they have?

Everyone has those days.  I’ve had one of those weeks.  I wondered when it was going to end.  It was like a bad dream i kept living over and over each day with no improvement.  Groundhog day it was not.  Then i realised that my stress level was up to me to maintain.  I was the one who had to decide if i jumped up and down and screamed, or patiently counted to 10 and wondered if in the big sceme of things, was it really worth getting upset over and would it kill me?

Some days all you can do to survive is to let it go.  Don’t hold onto it or it will bring you down. and fast.  I have really have no magic words to help you when you are feeling really shitty, it sucks i know.  But I am feeling your pain and i share it with you.  But tomorrow is a new day and all we have is right now so we might as well make the most of it.
